Dessert stations sure to please every guest!
Some may argue that the dessert stations are the most important part of any event, especially those with a sweet tooth! Here at Orchid Events, we know that food is an essential to part of any event and getting it right in presentation is just as important as taste. We love designing dessert stations as it allows our creativity to run free. Who knew there were so many ways to present desserts!
These photos are from a dessert station we did at a special wedding for one of clients. We love dessert stations as it allows us to find ways to incorporate yummy desserts into the theme so they add to the magical ambience of the event. For this event we incorporated the gold tones running throughout the event into the dessert table with the help of gold dessert stands, towering above the table, adding grandeur and making sure that the table stood out for the right reasons. We also tried to include the theme colours into the actual desserts which the chefs managed to pull off perfectly. The table was full of red and golden treats which the guests loved. Additionally, the red floral arrangements added a touch of elegance to the table and added splashes of red amongst the gold table and ornaments.
We recently planned a wedding at the Sky Garden at the Walkie Talkie building in London and Rhubarb, their in-house catering service, put their talent to the test and did not disappoint delivering this incredible dessert station, which was a success both in appearance and taste – the guests loved it! The table was full of beautifully created desserts in glass bowls and glasses which created an elegant and sophisticated look. The use of glass works really well with the surrounding building architecture, as the event space surrounded with huge glass windows offering spectacular views over the City of London. Plating desserts in glassware is a great way to keep guests from getting the dreaded sticky fingers which can often happen with dessert stations, making them not only beautiful, but practical.
As we said dessert stations can come in all shapes and sizes and creativity is definitely key when looking a unique dessert station. This dessert station was for a fun Bar Mitzvah in London. In keeping with the fun feeling of the event, we decided to get creative and move away from traditional dessert stations and find an alternative which was perfect for teenagers! This fun and colourful train was full of sweet treats for our guests to get stuck into –who doesn’t love an unlimited amount of sweets! This station kept the guests going all evening, buzzing with energy which kept the dance floor busy all evening too!
These images are both from Bar and Bat Mitzvah’s which show our take on a traditional dessert station but with a twist for our teenage guests. These tables give fun and exciting way of presenting sweets and desserts for guests and provided our guests with all their favourite treats to keep them full all evening long.
